What to do with the kids this weekend: January 10-12

 

January 10: Coffee & Conversation, 9:30 - 10:30 a.m., parents, grandparents, caregivers are invited for coffee, tea, breakfast treats, and adult conversation, FREE childcare provided, sponsored by the Agawam Family & Community Program, meet in the Lower Level of the Agawam Congregational Church, 745 Main St., Agawam, FREE. 

January 10: Second Fridays Art Program, 4-7 p.m., make a three-dimensional paper sculpture, tour the museum, Smith College Museum of Art, Elm Street, Northampton, FREE. 

January 11: Winter Wildlife, 10-11:30 a.m., learn how animals survive cold winter temperatures with hands on activities, Arcadia Wildlife Sanctuary, 127 Combs Road, Easthampton. Admission: $8/person (registration required -- use link to register). 

January 11: Saturday Family Science, 10 a.m. - noon, Digging for Dinosaurs, Hitchcock Center for the Environment, 845 West St., Amherst. Admission: $10/family -- use link to register.  

January 11: The Common School Open House, 10 a.m. - noon, meet the faculty, experience the classrooms, get to know the community, The Common School, 521 South Pleasant St., Amherst, FREE. 

January 11: Try It You'll Like It Girls Lacrosse Clinic, 10 a.m. - noon, open to girls in grades 2-8 who are interested in learning about lacrosse, equipment will be available to use, hosted by Westfield Girls Lacrosse, meet in the gym at St. Mary's Parish School, 27 Bartlett St., Westfield, FREE. 

January 11: MAKEBreak, 1-3 p.m., make a personalized storage box, purchase a storage box and all supplies needed to complete the project are provided, all Michael's Craft Stores. Admission: purchase of storage box. 

January 11: Learn to Skate Program, 3 p.m., Springfield Police officers teach kids of all ages how to ice skate, BYO bike helmet and gloves, Cyr Arena, Trafton Road, Forest Park, Springfield, FREE (including skate rental). 

January 11: Walking in a Winter Wonderland Carnival, 5-7 p.m., fun, games and crafts for ages 5 and up, YMCA of Greater Westfield, 67 Court St., Westfield, FREE. 

January 11: Poetic Recovery Family Open Mic Night, 7-9 p.m., parents are invited to come read poetry, play music, and perform with their children, Make-it Springfield, 168 Worthington St., Springfield, FREE. 

January 12: Mt. Tom New Years Hike, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., hosted by L. L. Bean Hadley, join in a two-mile, moderate level hike at Bray Loop Trail on Mt. Tom, use link to register, meet at Mt. Tom Universal Trail, 125 Reservation Road, Holyoke, FREE.
