Tomorrow is Eden's last day of third grade. She always likes to get her teachers and classmates a little something to celebrate and say thanks. This year that means flowers for her teachers and Hershey's bars for her friends. I was so stoked when I spotted these hanging pots at Big Y this morning:
The West Springfield store has a beautiful selection, original price $17.99, but right now they are buy one get one free! FREE is for ME! They were all in such good condition, and such beautiful plants: wave petunias, vinca, geranium, fuschia, and impatiens. I spent much too much time debating my options, but ended up choosing a vinca and an impatiens (she has two teachers), mostly because they were the lightest weight and she needs to be able to carry them into school herself.
We added a hand-written thank you note, and a copy of the Teacher's Prayer:
Eden wanted to give her classmates Hershey's chocolate bars (she has food allergies and these are a great allergy-friendly, gluten-free treat to share). The Hershey's bars were on sale at Big Y for $3.99/six-pack. At the West Springfield store, there was a peelie coupon on the shelf for an extra $1.00 off two packages, bringing the cost down to $3.49 each. I bought four packages for a grand total of $13.96. Sweet! (Literally.) But, I thought we should jazz them up a bit with these printable chocolate bar labels I downloaded from laurenmckinsey.com:
The cost to download the candy bar wrap for printing was $2.38. But considering Eden adores owls, the wrap says exactly how she is feeling, and this saved us from handwriting messages to each classmate -- they are priceless.
The finished product:
If you're keeping track, that's sweet end-of-school-year gifts for everyone on Eden's list for under $35. Thanks, Big Y!
Wishing you a wonderful last day of school!
